I got back from my trip away a couple of weeks ago.It was a very last minute trip as I went to help my parents with their tour business as they were told they would be having an unexpected busy period but it turns out that the information they got was wrong. Oh well. It meant I was able to hang out with my parents. It was really nice to get away, get out of the usual routine of life and visit with my parents.
I thought I’d come home and want to sew up a storm after being away from my sewing space for a while. But no, it seems that my sewjo has left for a bit. It doesn’t help that I had left my sewing room in shambles after I had the urge to make a luggage tag just before I left on my trip. I must have been trying to squeeze one last bit of sewing in before I left 🙂
So instead of sewing I’ve been catching up on reading sewing blogs, baking, getting the house tidied and working on other projects that have me energised at the moment. I’ve also had a rethink about my wardrobe and sewing. I’ll post more about that some other time.
Before my impromptu trip away Brisbane was still warm, after two weeks the chill had set in. Although, I really like the climate this time of year. It can be a bit chilly in the morning and evening, but it means that during the day it’s nice and warm without being unbearable.
Anyway, all of this is to say, I’m glad to be home. I’ve lost my sewing groove, but I’m hoping it comes back soon. Being away makes me grateful for what I have and where I live.
There really is no place like home.
Do you love coming home after being away?
Do you miss your sewing machine when you’re apart?
How do you get your groove back when it’s gone?
